Admission Requirements

All entrants into degree programmes offered by BODLC must meet the minimum national requirements for admission into the university as stipulated by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the Senate of the University.

Prospective Learners can be admitted through different modes.

  • The ‘O’ Level Mode: This shall be a 5-year programme (for regular 4-year programme). Candidates for this mode must possess 5 credits at one or two sittings as approved by the Senate.
  • The Direct Entry Mode: The Direct mode is a 4-year programme.  For those with Cambridge ‘A’ Level Certificate, JUPEB, NCE, OND, ATS, and as such as the Senate shall recognized in addition to the O-Level requirements.
  • Special Candidates: Candidates with professional qualifications such as ICAN, CIIA, CIS, and as such as the Senate shall recognized with at least two years working experience can be admitted to spend 3 years.
  • Intra/Inter University Transfer Mode: Transfer to ODL from other Universities or from the regular (face-to-face) programme by learners who so desired shall be allowed. Students switching from face-to-face mode of study to ODL shall continue from the same level. Such transfer shall be allowed on reasons considered necessary by the Board of the Centre other than committing criminal offences by the applicants.
  • General: All candidates shall be required to write an entrance examination, which shall be CBT covering English Language and Knowledge of ICT. However, candidates that applied for the University’s regular programmes but were not considered could be considered at the Centre provided such prospective learner meet the entry requirements. Such candidates would only obtain the ODL form and do a change of mode to the ODL programme.

Five (5) O’ Level Credits at one or two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects.Two A’Level passes in any two of Economics, Geography and Mathematics.ND/HND at lower credit in a related field (as the case may be) from recognized institutions.Economics/Commerce, Mathematics, English and any other social science subject.
